Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The president stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Attendees came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the individual that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and halt providing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor the governor said on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she also intended to meet with his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
