Salah Extends Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match subsequent to making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
He also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
