Chalobah Poised to Take Over from Marc Guehi in England Selection
The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to earn caps for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is likely to join up with the England squad to cover for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to link up with the team for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been made public.
The national side have already secured qualification for next summer's competition.
Chalobah was given his first selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then made his debut against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally didn't call him up for the next October matches.
Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's progress, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are set to be other inclusions to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the squad.
